A lot of people ask me why I DO NOT like APH at all.

I found someone who explained it perfectly.

"As promised, another hate stamp, this time specifically towards the atrocity known as "Hetalia: Axis Powers".

It's not even so much that it's anime that made me hate it, but more so this show in particular did.

It quietly makes fun of entire nations by personifying them in a form of a single being, equipped with specific characteristics. The only thing probably distinguishing this from racist stereotypes would be how some of their characteristics are based on historical tendencies and events.

But history is something completely trivial to this show. I mean, history is boring, let's show kids the nations as people who try to interact, it'd be like a teenage sitcom! Only anime.

"Surprisingly" the nation that is the least made fun of quietly is Japan.

"Surprisingly" has a jab at China, and the irritating russophobic stereotype for Russia. Not to mention how Italy is portrayed like a coward. Is that supposed to be a stab at the Italian army or at Benito Mussolini? Unfortunately still portrays Italy as a whole nation to be cowardly.

I mostly hate the show because it's making a mockery of history and nations. Also I hate it because it will ruin perception of world history for the naive who are probably the majority of the fans of this show.

Perfect example, and I don't know if this is actually portrayed so in the show, but either way the fandom yaoi girls got here too and the net is filled with the idea of Finland and Sweden being lovers.

My two Finnish friends were instantly struck speachless when I turned that little fact over to them and they instantly agreed that the authors deserve horrible fates.

Quote one friend: "I'd like to both mentally and physically abuse the author" It's like... it's like you (Russia - A.S.) being in love with poland.. or the states."

Quote another friend: "Finland loving Sweden? That's like Germany loving France"

And, naturally, I agree with them. This show butchers history, and makes fun of entire nations. Don't see why I shouldn't hate it.

I'd feel sorry for my Italian and Finnish friends because of this, but I got to deal with my own rage about how Russia is depicted in this show.

I joked with one of the aforementioned friends on how fandom girls will turn this into the most scary looking fandomfest ever. He did a pretty accurate impression, in my opinion: "Germany was SO CUTE in WW2!".

And I was right. To finish this off I will quote the fanposts from some vids related to this show on youtube and the ridiculousness that is FinlandxSweden in particular:

I dont care if you like it, so please stop telling me to like it or "give it a second chance".

Theres a lot Id like to add on to his comments about why he doesnt like it, but I believes he sums it up quite nicely.
